I first began working with Allison Kortokrax summer 2011. Her work spoke to me on a level I could not really put into words. Korto's work was haunting & whimsical, dirty & rugged; as well as clean & feminine. She had many different unique styles to her art form: she almost appeared to be several people rolled into one. I couldn't pick Korto's work from a pile of unmarked photographs if someone tried to quiz me. However, I most likely choose Allison's work as my personal favorite from that very same pile. She was the first person to ever shoot me in a professional setting. I was nervous, and it showed. I'm not even sure how she got me to come out of my shell that day; maybe her silly quirks and outgoing, yet somehow timid behavior, has something to do with it. So many laughs, photos, and good memories we made that day: AND the work we created that day was spectacular! All the work she and myself have done together since has been equally amazing, if not more so. Each time she surprises me, and takes her photography to a whole new level. I look forward to hopefully working with her in the near future.
